Tiny Bits in the Sewing Room
Doesn't sewing leave you with tiny bits too beautiful to throw away? I've taken to storing mine in the jars from our Bonne Maman jam. Snippets of rickrack, short lengths of bias binding, inches of lace. Time to trim some very small things!

You know, I bet if Giles took a picture of your trash, he could even make that look beautiful! ;)
I admire how resourceful you are--not only keeping things that might come in handy, but having them organized and accessible so that you can actually find them when you need them!

When I saw the photo, before I read your text, I thought "she buys Bonne Mamam, too!" I *LOVE* those jars and keep them as well. Although I haven't thought to store sewing bits in them.
I love their uniformity and the cheerful checked lids. The contents are yummy, too.
Doll clothes trimming, perhaps? I've been lurking your site for some time and have always loved the photography - I was recently totally shocked to learn the photography was done by Giles! Very impressed.
I don't like parting with my little treasures either. I would love to keep them,but I usually give them to my seven yr. old. You would think by her response that I had just given her a bucket of gold...sigh...priceless!

Those, and Smucker's Peanut Butter, which has a lovely brown gingham rim -- unfortunately marred by the logo on top.

What a good idea! I had been saving them all up for when my daughter is old enough to be crafty, and because I cannot BEAR to part with even a scrap of pretty calico.
I guess I'm not the only one who has discovered these lovely jars! I use them for everything. I have so many they are our drinking glasses. Perfect for when the children don't finish their milk or juice. I put a top on it and save it for later. I also take them on picnics and outings. Makes me feel good not to buy plastic water bottles.
They look like jars of jewels in the windows!
