Espresso
The day after I decided that yes, I do want an espresso machine, I found this Moka at the thrift store for $1. I tried it out this morning and put myself into an unfortunate caffeine overdrive. But I am very glad to have it and foresee many happy latte mornings ahead.

I have one just like that; makes good strong coffee....er espresso.
It's the only way to make espresso. My husband and I bought one in Italy; every Sunday morning we heat up some milk and have the best lattes ever.
Dear old moka...we use it every morning here in Italy...the coffee is quite strong..without it I can't begin the day !

Ok, I've seen these before in the thrift/junktique stores, and have no clue how to use them. Any advice?

Welcome to the world of aroma, crema and taste. My treat in the morning is an espresso from an espresso machine, just one in the day otherwise yes, the caffeine, the shakes.....

I used to see these little pots in thrift stores and never knew what they were...lol....and I AM a coffee drinker....well, once when I was watching TV (something I ordinarily do not do, but I was on the couch recovering)....I saw someone use it on a cooking show!!! Ha!, I have wanted one ever since. :)
I have not seen one of those for a long time. I do like black coffee in the morning. Enjoy! Kathi
Hafta say...starting each morning with a big bowl of Milchkaffee or latte the year I lived in Germany was simply out of this world. These little pots are great!
my absolute favorite thing in the world...i start everyone morning with a latte or americano...i even took it on vacation with us.
it took awhile to get my rythm just right with it, but now it is a perfect cup of coffee every morning.
speaking of...i must go make one right now.
yum! I have one of these too... but only use it about once a week.. espresso puts me in over drive too, lol. Love your blog.
