In the Vintage Kitchen: Chocolate Blanc Mange Roll

This 1940s recipe is a plain sponge cake rolled around an interesting chocolate filling--melted chocolate and sugar and whipped cream, stabilized with gelatin. Served with a sprinkle of cocoa.

Yum! Recipe please! I've used quite a few of your recipes - your bread is the best I've made!

Okay. This looks *really* good. And it doesn't hurt that it's on that cool plate with the rustic table (or whatever) beneath.

I loved the garden texture pictures below. Really appealing. I go for hardy in my arid desert garden, too.

And, of course, that coffee pot is really appealing. I love the simpler ways of doing things, like French presses and mochas. Low-tech is always so much more aesthetically pleasing! :-) Enjoy your coffee!

I felt like a first-rate genius in the kitchen the first time I made on of these. And doesn't it look pretty on a plate? thanks for sharing!

This story had points that made me think of you, but then again there are ways of living vintagely as you do without having to deny the time in which one lives.

I am not sure what I am doing commenting on your posts that are almost 3 years old, but I was surprised that I hadn't noticed before that those dishes are the same I have been collecting by hook or crook(well maybe not crook) the last several years. I love them.
