Speaking of Beautiful Music
Speaking of beautiful music, let me share a gift with you. The Composer pointed me to this album this week: Josh Garrels Love and War and the Sea In Between. Amazingly, this music is available to anyone to download for free by clicking here. Let me point you first to the poignant, energetic re-imagining of the classic hymn "Farther Along". I can go about two hours currently before I need to listen to it again.
Enjoy, greatly!

I find Josh's version of "Farther Along" to be quite addicting. It just kind of sticks in your mind. We also just saw him on YouTube the other day performing O Come O Come Emmanuel...we thought it was beautiful.
Oh, my. So loving this.
Thank you, Josh Garrels and Anna.
Truly,
Kara
Oh, Anna! Thank you so much for passing this along to us! I am currently basking in "Farther Along" myself. :) Thank you, thank you!
Anna, thanks so much for introducing us to Josh Garrell. I loved his music, and like you, am enthralled with Farther Along. What a gift...and used so well.
Really enjoyed that. Thanks.
Me college-aged son put this on my computer this summer. Great music!
Wonderful! Please pass along any other "hidden gems" - good Christian music can be SO HARD to find.
Dear Anna, This is lovely. Thank you. I am a long time reader and speaking of music, you have always reminded me of The Innocence Mission. Anna is to blogging as Karen Peris is to music. Do you know their stuff? I think you would like them very much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXMOriLyBW8

Oooh, thanks for sharing!
I am particularly partial to Johnny Cash's version of "Farther Along," but then again, I'm pretty partial to anything Cash. He just FEELS it so!
I'm going to enjoy listening to this new album.
Wow! Beautiful album! I'm downloading mine now so I can listen to it wherever I go today : )
Thanks for the tip!
Thank you!!! I've been searching for something new lately as I was just feeling a little stale by mainstream stuff. I have told my hubby that it's like my soul was craving something, but turning up nothing. I'd find a sound I like, but the words would be less than soul-feeding. I think this may satisfy my music bug for awhile and free to boot! That's just crazy! :)
If Josh Garrels album suddently gets loaded down a lot from Norway it's because I discovered it here on your blog, introduced it to my husband and he's promoting it on fb... ;) Great music! Thanks for sharing it.
I've been lurking, reading your blog without commenting for quite a while because your posts are so encouraging to this at-home mom! Thanks so much for that wonderful link. Blessings to you and yours.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
That is beautiful, thank you!
I have had the first Indelible Grace CD in my van for about a week, listening over and over. It was my daughter who sent it to me and now I must add more to my CD library.
Really enjoying listening to Josh now. :)
The presence he evokes reminds me of that of an artist from up here in Canada, Steve Bell. Lovely music to contemplate or as background for sewing, bread baking or playing with children. Thank you!
Checked, enjoyed, and shared--thank you!
Thank you for the music suggestion Anna! It is beautiful, I love it!
Thank you for letting us know about this generous man's music!
Genevieve
Cool, thanks for sharing. I like it, though my FAVORITE Christian artist is Matt Maher, he is great!
Nice. I like. Is this a Christian artist? I agree with Tree above, MattMaher is great too!
Anna,
I just wanted to stop by and say thankyou for posting this link. I downloaded it the day you posted it. I introduced my husband to it and he loved it too. On the 8th of this month I gave birth to our sixth child, a beautiful daughter. Within 48 hours of birth she was air lifted to mainland Australia with a heart condition and many other issues. I am still here with her and do not know how long I will be away from my family. While she is improving at the moment, I have learned that we think in terms of moments with sick babies. My husband is home with our other children and our only contact is snatched conversations among the busyness of our days and long e-mails when we sit down for a moment. Separately, we have both been listening to this album - especially Farther Along - almost constantly. It has been a balm for us.
Thankyou
Oh, Jess, you are so welcome. Praying for your little one to be strong and well enough to come home soon. Hang in there.
