A Cheap and Cheerful Shower Gift
I needed a very quick and cheap wedding shower present today, just a placeholding token really, since our gift to the bride and groom is something entirely different. Five minutes at the Dollar General gave me microfiber cloths, spray bottles, and scrubby sponges.
How to make inexpensive doodads present themselves best? Stick to the same colors, remove tags and packaging, and tie everything together with matching tissue paper.

Love this idea! So creative, useful and budget-minded!
Some of my favorite gifts when I was a new bride were the simple and the practical things that I could use on a daily basis. Like these. :-)

charming! (and I'm curious about the real gift, too)
The real gift is real live musicians playing for the wedding--cello and violin.
What a great gift, and especially useful when couples have not lived out of home before the wedding, and you can never have too many scrubbers:)
Great idea. Love both gifts; especially the music. I agree with Mike and Susie, my best gifts were practical and useful. Kathi
A lovely idea - especially with your suggestion of similar colours. Sounds like the wedding's fast approaching.
My uber-practical grandma gave me a similar shower gift....a laundry basket (!) decorated and filled with cleaning supplies, scrubbies, dishtowels....& a roll of toilet paper, because she couldn't resist a little humor. It was an extremely useful gift! I like to give cleaning goodies too and a copy of Home Comforts, though my tastes run more to mrs Meyers than mr clean, I have my grandmother's sense of pragmatism nonetheless.
A cheerful and useful gift indeed!
