The Same Only Different

The sky turned to fall the moment we left for the fair.

Daisy loved the eggs (I loved her snood).

Such delicate colors. We smelled the Tropicana roses in honor of my grandmother who favored them.

Daisy asked to see "bunnies and vegetables." For bunnies, you had to put up with a certain amount of rooster noise.

Worth it.

Why do bunnies get to look this good? They are just right.

I love this little piece of our autumn. It does my heart good.

Every year it is the same, only different.

I appreciate the sentiment about fall. I agree. Fairs are so much fun. I have been at our local fair all weekend.

I love our annual fairs, too. Unfortunately, this year we missed out when the fairgrounds flooded twice up to 5 feet of water.

Such beautiful pictures and I love her snood, too! Do you have a pattern you could share? I love fall and it's started to come to Tennessee, too :)

do you and your daughters always wear skirts? is it a part of your religion?

We often wear skirts, because we like them so much. It has nothing to do with religion, just aesthetics, comfort, and personality.

Sarah, that "snood" is just a traditional round beret knit in a very droopy cotton, and a little too big for Daisy.

Kate, I wouldn't go to the fair under those circumstances either--that's a little TOO different!

I used to love to take my little girls to the county fair too. And bunnies and vegetables were some of our favorites also. In addition we really liked the home-canned produce - especially the pickles. Didn't we?

I miss my local fair. Lots of special memories made there. As always, your blog posts are like a drink of fresh water!

do the girls have to wear headcoverings now, or are they just currently into headwear?

Anna said...

No one has to wear a headcovering. You must be confusing us with someone else :). When it gets chilly sometimes we like to wear knitted caps.

I like wearing skirts too, for comfort. I haven't been to a small fair since I was a girl.
