Eighteen Feet of Bunting

I've been living without a sewing machine for over a week now (cue the sad violins), but there's an upside: time to rummage around the various bins and boxes in the sewing room.

Apparently there's a lot I'd forgotten about.

Like, eighteen feet (eighteen feet?) of hand-crocheted bunting in perfect condition wadded into one of my boxes of trims. Have I ever seen this thing before? Not to my knowledge.

This one will go in the shop, for one of those people who live in a pristine white house layered with textiles. Or who is decorating for Christmas, or is getting married. Dreamy.

Beautiful, wonder what the original purpose!

Very dreamy. I do not live in a pristine white house, nor do I decorate for Christmas or plan to get married in the foreseeable future. Someone else will have to snatch it; but it still is dreamy, because a girl can dream.

I do envy your etsy shop sales! You list something and POOF! it's sold.

Anyway, I was rummaging through my stash recently and being surprised by what I had. I put the brakes on fabric purchases almost a year ago and STILL feel like I'm swimming. Maybe I need to do bigger projects - many of my projects are small, I guess.

I can't tell you how good it makes me feel that you used the word 'wadded'. Because I wad, too. Suddenly there is less to feel ashamed of.

When I saw this last night I almost bought it. It would look good anywhere, but I left it hoping it would go somewhere it would look just right.

18 feet, hand-crocheted.
Crumbs, doesn't that just guilt you into wanting to save it for posterity!
With a massive effort of self control, I'm abstaining (this time).
