A Bare Enough Table

This mostly bare tabletop is a huge victory. If you've ever painted your kitchen cabinets, you know what I'm talking about. All the contents of every drawer, half the contents of every cupboard--all of that was everywhere until this morning.

I spent the first two hours digging out from under and then sighed a big sigh of relief and began to enjoy my sequined fruits.

Oh Anna, on a quick glance in my reader I thought you had waratahs! So glad to hear the kitchen cupboard marathon is done, I hope you're pleased with them.

It looks beautiful!

I decided on a whim to take all the glass bottles from on top of my tall, antique pantry and wash them.

On the same day I had already started putting a dark oil stain on my dining room table to spiffy it up for the Holidays.

I don't know what I was thinking...

Anna, I love the simplicity and beauty of your table decoration. I hope you enjoy your white kitchen cabinets. I can not imagine what a job that was.....especially the drawers. Would you ever consider doing a room-by-room home tour? I'm currently looking through your archives and I'm enjoying 2010. It is so fun to see the children growing up. I've been with your blog since 2008. I find myself smiling when I remember some of the posts, and praying for you when your grandmother was staying with you. You, and your family, have been an inspiration to me. I am spurred on to good deeds when I see you hosting a bridal shower, or planning a meal for someone, making meals from scratch, and finding snippets of time to sew, decorating your home in vintageware, but most importantly, loving and caring your husband and children as Jesus would.....to His glory. I respect that in you. You are a testimony of what a Proverbs 31 woman is. It is so hard to find women today that love the Lord and are following His will. Thanks for your blog! Many blessing to you!! ***This message is mainly for you. You don't have to post it.*****

And I am sure that the sequinned fruits gave you a spark of joy every time you looked at them. It's a better rule of thumb than I thought it was going to be. I have been able to relinquish so much that I kept out of obligation.

Kim, thanks for your lovely comment. I will take your home tour suggestion under advisement--I think I could do that with the help of the panorama app. I'm so glad you find encouragement here!

Lucille, I had the same response to the tidying rule.
