I went down to the barn with Daisy at dusk to hold the flashlight while she shut the chickens up and coated Sullivan the Rooster's comb with Vaseline--to protect it from frostbite.
I have not heard of using vaseline to protect rooster combs before. I will mention it to a couple of friends who keep chickens. It is currently -20C here so they are likely shut up in their insulated and heated coop so they might not need it. Worth a mention anyway! :)

Now that's a use for Vaseline I never thought of before!
I had no idea that Vaseline provided that protection!
I saw the same moon here in the southern hemisphere on Wednesday evening about 15 hours before you wrote this post. :)

Lovely moon! And you are a very good mama :-)
Love these glimpses into the country life.
