. . . to come home from Boy Scout camp tomorrow. His furniture is all freshly painted white, and his chocolate bar and stack of new bird magazines await him.
That is a beautiful picture. And how nice to know that mail is patiently waiting you? He is a lucky boy indeed! And to have newly-done furniture and lovely flowers as well? I wish that such things awaited my family at home. Thank you for inspiring me to make our home a more welcoming place!
I am finding that showing kindness to our children as they grow up reaps great rewards.
When we arrived at the cottage our daughter and her family had rented in Lancaster County, I knew which was our bedroom without asking (we arrived when they were attending a church service in a nearby town).
There was a basket on a bed in one of the bedrooms which had a collection of sugar free chocolates (for me), chocolate pecan candies (her dad's favorites), and a few issues of Country Living.
Someday you will visit your children and find beauty awaiting you as those are the seeds planted in their youth. :)
Feel free to Pin my photos, but please link back to the page you found them on.
Photography
Photography is an important part of life at my house. Photos that appear here are taken by Giles, by the Composer, and by me. Giles is a real, paid photographer, and he uses a Sony Alpha. Most of the photography prior to September 2008 is his. Since then I have done most of the shooting and I use a Konica Minolta. Additionally, the Composer offers me nice shots on occasion, often from his little Canon point and shoot. I've given up trying to note who's done what. Thanks for your interest!

It's the little things that make coming home so comforting, isn't it? And I always love sifting through the mail.
