Clara Dreams of Pirates

Today Clara embarked on a long-awaited project. At last she's gotten a chance to play in the pit orchestra for a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta.

It's Pirates of Penzance. Daisy's favorite.

Clara played through the cello part last night at home. It's mostly quarter notes, unrecognizable as the beloved melodies. Daisy didn't mind. She waited in the wings, in full Mabel regalia, fancy dress and bonnet and fan and handkerchief, for her entrance. For twenty minutes.

Yes, we will be going to those rehearsals, and one of us will be wearing a costume.

What a thrill for Clara to have a dream realised! Obviously Daisy is thrilled too, for completely different reasons LOL.

Congratulations Clara ~ enjoy every moment!

Oh! I *love* the Pirates of Penzance! and I would love to play in the pit for one, but I play harp, and I don't remember harp in it at all :(
and yes, Congratulations Clara! Enjoy your playing!

I'm totally unfamiliar with any of Gilbert & Sullivan - but you've got me interested. Congratulations, Clara!

What fun! Our college orchestra accompanied a local group for a Gilbert and Sullivan sampler concert one time. It was my first exposure to the music, and I loved it. I know Clara (and of course Daisy!) will enjoy this treat.

Pirates is my absolute favourite. An Australian company did a version of it a few years ago, and it is the only musical my husband will optionally waysch. So funny! Congratulations, Clara!

Musical theatre is just the best. :) Our family is currently involved in a production, also. All the best, enjoy every minute!
