Daisy's Spring Wardrobe: Jacks

I wanted a classic little girl's dress--think Dick and Jane--with a full skirt and Peter Pan collar. And a back zipper, since Daisy doesn't like the bumpiness of buttons down the back. I found It's So Easy Simplicity 7422 in my stash, and it was just right. I cut out a size 5 with a length of 7, and it came out a little baggy. My favorite part? The deluxe five-inch hem.

And of course the face above the collar.

adorable! and no book or candy in sight to help the pose. Little girls grow so fast.

We've gotten an influx of vintage storybooks recently and I'm so inspired by all the sweet little clothes. Thinking of making a seersucker shorts suit for my son. . .

Oh Anna that fabric is just too too cute - so perfect for a little girl! And just right for that perfect pattern too. Daisy looks so sweet! (oh and, off topic, I thought about Felix yesterday as my husband and I tried to determine whether it was a house finch or a purple finch singing so merrily and so long on our deck railing) :)

I have such sweet memories of my grandma teaching me to play a mean game of jacks. This fabric is adorable!! (To say nothing of sweet Daisy!)

The jacks fabric is so great, particularly with that pattern.

I'm getting excited about sewing classic dresses for my girl!

This is too funny - I just bought most of a bolt of that very same fabric on a $1/yard sale to use for making mock-ups! It makes an adorable Daisy-dress. She is getting so grown-up!
