Apple-Cranberry Cake

A beautiful variation on the cranberry-blueberry cake: apple-cranberry.


I sliced two small tart apples and laid them over the sugar in the pan in a pretty pattern, then scattered frozen cranberries on top, for a punch of bright color.


Perfect for fall, when apples are waiting at Farmer's Market . . .
