Yellow Wrap Blouse

I cut down my wrap dress pattern to make a blouse. The fabric is an unlikely sheer wool gabardine that I bought a couple of seasons ago because I was charmed by the quality of the wool (while somewhat horrified by the color). Little did I know that this powerful yellow would be this season's favorite. It's such a light fabric that it's been good for even warmish spring days.

Beautiful! How perfect for spring.

j jill has a light weight layering tank that is exactly that color, if you are interested. I bought it and have nothing to wear it with! It doesn't match last year's yellow, which was much more muted.

Looks great Anna. I used to say yellow was my favourite colour, when I was a child. I'm not sure what happened to change that...but that yellow would almost have me change back. It's beautiful.

I adore wrap blouses -- such a classic (and slenderizing style). You'll look very classy, my dear, wearing it about. And the color... so cheery and not horrifying at all. Just consider yourself a Spring bloom.

I looks great! When I saw the picture, before I read the text, I knew it was from that wonderful wrap dress pattern!

Very cheery color!

I love that shade of yellow, actually! I don't wear it next to my face - wish I could. I adore the graceful ruffle on the elbows.

I've been eyeing that pattern for months, since you first posted your lavender and cranberry creations. I asked for it for my 33rd birthday, but my mom isn't sure it will look good on me, especially for the price. (this is a lady who is able to dream up a dress and create a pattern for it by cutting up old newspapers.)

I'm short and stocky. Do you think that pattern would look well on a short and stocky frame?

Also, have you found the initial investment in a pattern and material worth $75?

Thanks!

Monica

That is so pretty! I love the bright yellow color! That flared sleeve style is my absolute favorite!

It's lovely. The nice thing about high-quality wool is that after a couple of years, when the color just doesn't "sing" to you anymore, it will take dye very well.
